Had the honor of leading Morning Prayer at @stthomaseustis this morning. It`s a special place for me since I`ve completed my diaconate field work training there two years ago.
Actually, it`s more than just special... it`s a sacred space for me.
The people were so loving in welcoming me back, and I made some new friends too.
I think this is one of my favorite things in ministry, just being able to encourage and challenge people in the Word, and to be a blessing to them.
I`ll be back for one more time to lead Morning Prayer and preach next Sunday too. If you`re in the (Eustis) area, I`d love to see you there Sunday, May 17th at 9:30am. I can promise you a rousing sermon, and a beautiful time of prayer and worship.

Peter could have used any word for example or model.
He chose hypogrammos.
It`s the only time this word appears in the entire New Testament. It literally describes a writing tablet students use to trace their letters.
Christ is the pattern. We trace the shape of his life with our own.
You`re not figuring this out alone. The lines are already there.

Had the pleasure today of being the keynote speaker for the #cfdiocese Order of the Daughters of the King, talking about themes from my book, "Holy Rhythms for Hurting Hearts" (available on @amazon).
It was a great group... and even as the only dude in the room, I had a blast with everyone.
I`m amazed at how great the feedback is when I talk about that book.
Mental Health carries such a stigma, even in the church. But so many of us carry a weight that often feels unbearable. But in the ancient practices we find in the liturgies of the church, we find peace and that we aren`t alone. More than anything, we find Christ walking with us.
"Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:27

Had a GREAT Youth Sunday! #EYCmountdora took over both services today, and they served SO well!
I`m incredibly proud of them. And one of my favorite things in life right now is having a front row seat to watching what God is doing in their lives.
Their heart to BE the Church is inspiring.
What`s even better than their desire to serve is their hunger to dig deep into the Word. And they are letting it truly shape their lives.
And how do you wrap up a day like this? With @scoopson5th, of course!

I think I figured out why these teens like me... it might be because I bring them food. If it`s not popcorn chicken, then it`s @pizzamoremountdora deliciousness.
And I love hearing everyone call my son by his nickname of "Nugget," because "Rev Dan brings the nuggets."
It`s been really cool having the opportunity to be there and minister to these kids in the Mount Dora High School theater program. They are truly a talented and dedicated group.
And I`m grateful for the support I get for this from @stedwardsepiscopal, a church that`s serious about having an impact in our community.

It`s a beautiful day to be outside and working in the yard.
Trimmed back some palm trees, resetting the flower beds, and watching the birds nesting.
And some of the bromiliads under one of my oak trees are in full bloom! 😍
It can be exhausting maintaining this yard, but there is so much beauty to behold.
And I can feel the rhythms of God`s Creation in this place.
I wish I was a better gardener, and that it had more time (and money) to invest in it. Maybe some day.
Regardless, I`m grateful for what I have. And I`ll always appreciate the opportunity to experience God in this sacred place.

A Message From Dan
What does it look like to live a Christian life? Like, TRULY live a Christian life? If I’m honest, I’m over the fake front of being a happy, blessed, and perfect person in order to impress others. Truth is, I’m a sinner who’s just trying to figure out how to do this without looking like an absolute fool. I think the Christian life is about admitting our brokenness, while raising our hand to say,”Here I am Lord! What would You have me do?” And that’s what this blog is all about… just a dude trying to do the best I can, and maybe hoping that you’re stumbling through the same journey. Maybe we can walk together.
