that’s it, i quit: three things you must quit in order to serve others
I used to think and rethink ways to live a life of love. I agonized over my self-absorbed life and poured over service opportunities. Then, I sat. I refused occasions to serve others. I’m busy. I don’t know them. I don’t have a heart for that. Not good. Then, I tried...
in which my week spins and I center
I'm curled up with my cream-colored plush throw to read in preparation for a High Calling book club discussion, when my daughter-in-law calls. My son's vertigo is back, and he's begging to go to the emergency room. I sigh. Not again. When it happens, it happens out of...
rainy day resistance
Wearing her pink and green pajama pants and an overcoat, she scuffs through the kitchen into the garage. Kicks off her fuzzy slippers and pushes her feet into dirty garden shoes; balancing one foot at a time while holding her camera inside a plastic grocery bag. “What...

A Message From Dan
What does it look like to live a Christian life? Like, TRULY live a Christian life? If I’m honest, I’m over the fake front of being a happy, blessed, and perfect person in order to impress others. Truth is, I’m a sinner who’s just trying to figure out how to do this without looking like an absolute fool. I think the Christian life is about admitting our brokenness, while raising our hand to say,”Here I am Lord! What would You have me do?” And that’s what this blog is all about… just a dude trying to do the best I can, and maybe hoping that you’re stumbling through the same journey. Maybe we can walk together.
