when you are a mess and He is in love
He nibbles graham crackers on the couch, sticky crumbs and a slice of lunch meat cut into “pizza shapes” because that’s the only way he’ll eat it. Five hairs stick straight at his crown and there is dirty black beneath his fingernails. Frayed socks, chapped lips, a...
on being generous when you feel tapped out
As I drove home from work, I prayed. Dear God, I cannot handle one more thing on my plate. I mean it. Do you hear me? Enough. Finito. That's it. For real. Tapped out. I'm not kidding, not even a little. Puh-lease, no more. : : I'm sure you understand my words because...
ephesians 6:10-20: the whole armor of God
My husband and I saw The Hobbit last night. An Unexpected Adventure as Tolkein titled it. It was an adventure indeed, full of courage from unlikely, small people, bloody battles, bravery and daring and the strength and victory that comes when those on the side of Good...
in which i love winter
I'm a summertime gal. Bring on the sun, the heat, the sweat. Let me rock on the porch with a glass of iced tea, sporting a pair of shorts and my Tigers T-shirt, inhaling the scent of petunias. Or give me springtime, air heavy with the fragrance of lilacs, pregnant...

A Message From Dan
What does it look like to live a Christian life? Like, TRULY live a Christian life? If I’m honest, I’m over the fake front of being a happy, blessed, and perfect person in order to impress others. Truth is, I’m a sinner who’s just trying to figure out how to do this without looking like an absolute fool. I think the Christian life is about admitting our brokenness, while raising our hand to say,”Here I am Lord! What would You have me do?” And that’s what this blog is all about… just a dude trying to do the best I can, and maybe hoping that you’re stumbling through the same journey. Maybe we can walk together.
