all i have seen…

all I have seen

It’s hard work these days – with joints that flare and lungs that clog – to leave the comforts of home, so if you ask me why I’m compelled to push through the pain and hobble about with a camera, the short answer is this…

For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made.  Romans 1:20

God has graciously given us eyes to see his hand, proof and evidence of his power and greatness, and his faithfulness in all he has made…

…in the wildflowers that grow in sandy soil and swampy ditches

…in the grapes that ripen on tangled vines in the thickets

Patricia April daisy

Patricia April grapes

…in the male cardinal that tenderly cares for his female

…in the eagle mama who patiently, but faithfully watches her fledglings

Patricia April cardinals

Patricia April Eagle

…in the green of new growth

…in the glory of painted buntings

…and in the rising and setting of the sun

Patricia April green

Patricia April Bunting

Patricia April sunset

And when I see how God springs beauty out of the pits, growth for new life, and fruit in the tangles…

All I have seen teaches me to trust the Creator for All I have not seen. Ralph Waldo Emerson

Leslie, can you tell me which bird photo you are interested in? I’m usually pretty free with the use of my photos, but it just depend on which one. I have created a flickr set of photos that are available without even asking my permission. You might want to take a look at those before deciding (see link below). And thank you for asking. http://pollywogcreek.blogspot.com/p/free-blog-photos.html

You capture the visible and invisible so well, my friend. Those things that most of us miss. How can anyone see creation and not see the Creator?

    And that eagle. Oh my!

Thank you, Sandra…and amen!!! We talked about it this morning in Bible study – those without Christ sometimes are simply blinded to the evidence.

Well Patricia, somehow I knew this was your work just by seeing the photos. And I loved the “God in the tangles” line too

Patricia–you are a testimony, a glory giving gracious one for our Lord, in spite of the challenges, to bear witness to this amazing world. i just read this in Psalm 119 today, “you have established the earth, and it stands fast. By your appointment they stand this day, for all things are your servants.” vv. 90,91 All creation serves to show us our amazing Creator God. Hallelujah!

You know, Darlene…God is so good to me. He knew what He was doing when He gave me a camera and this gift of seeing. He knew it would be the motivation I would need on days like today when I was in so much pain that I didn’t want to move until I caught a glimpse of an indigo bunting in the sweetgum tree. I pushed past the pain and sat outside on the backyard swing for over an hour waiting for that bunting to return. Being outside was infinitely better than curling up in my lounge chair feeling sorry for myself – which is what I would have been inclined to do otherwise. God is good. Always. And it IS grace, indeed!
