Have you ever thought about what is important to God? Often when we want to get involved with a “good cause” we tend to think about what issues are important to us. But shouldn’t we first be thinking about what is importatnt to God? As Chrsitians, it is our duty to do His will, not our own will regardless of whether it is wrapped up in the best (even Biblically-supported) intentions.

So as we continue this discussion from the “get uncomfortable” conference that the Focus Young Adults Ministry (20-somethings) put together, it is important for us to examine the character of God. Before we can talk about what to do, we must first examine who God is, and try to discover His will. This message is delivered by Zeb Abalos. I really appreciate this young man’s heart to see God move. Check out the video now…

After watching this video, answer these questions:

  1. What do you believe are the most important things to God? What is His heart when it comes to His people (all of them)?
  2. What do you need to do in order to get a hold of God’s heart, and have those same desires grow in your heart?

Prayer: Lord, help me to have the same heart that you have for your people. Help me to see the world the way that you see it. Build a deep compassion in me for all of your people, and a strong desire to minister to those in need according to your will. I love you Lord. In Jesus name. Amen.
