When I want to get to know someone, or just hang out with them, in my ‘offline’ life I always think about going to some cool hangout place like Starbucks and chatting over a cup of my favorite hot drink (venti non-fat no-water chai).

In fact, as I write this my wife is out with a friend (at Starbucks) catching up on a much needed break for the both of them.

This idea of fellowship (and sometimes discipleship) over a casual cup of tea or coffee makes me think a lot about how online community develops.

I have some ideas on the subject, but I’d love to hear more about what others think. That’s why I’d love to get together with everyone for a good, old-fashioned Twitter party (hosted by The High Calling network). Here’s the details…

Who: All members of The High Calling network (and anyone else who wants to jump in!)

What: Twitter Party! (use hashtag #highcall)

When: Tuesday night, Feb. 22nd at 9:00 PM EST

Where: http://tweetchat.com/room/highcall

Why: It’s an opportunity to sit down with friends over a cup of tea (or coffee) and discuss what makes good online community.

And if you can’t make it, that’s fine… feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below. I also plan to follow-up the Twitter party with highlights from the conversation, and you’ll have a chance to chime in on that post too.

So…
