how to help [dying kids in africa]

how to help [dying kids in africa]

2,000 children die from malaria every day. That's 83 children every hour. With every minute that passes, another child or two dies. Would you believe me if I said it's possible to end all malaria deaths by the year 2015? It's true. By getting involved and mobilizing...

marriage or cohabitation?

marriage or cohabitation?

A recent report by The National Marriage Project revealed that marriage is becoming less important to couples as they decide to raise a family together. Take a look: In 1960, approximately 66% of all women over 15 were married in the United States; today, only 51% of...

the background of salvation

the background of salvation

[serialposts]There are many ideas regarding the antoning work of Christ, beginning with the necessity of it. But regardless of your view on the necessity of the atonement, one thing that's clear is that God didn't have to save anyone. He chose to save because He loves...

The Story That
Changed Everything

It's a beautiful day to be outside and working in the yard.

Trimmed back some palm trees, resetting the flower beds, and watching the birds nesting.

And some of the bromiliads under one of my oak trees are in full bloom! 😍

It can be exhausting maintaining this yard, but there is so much beauty to behold.

And I can feel the rhythms of God's Creation in this place.

I wish I was a better gardener, and that it had more time (and money) to invest in it. Maybe some day.

Regardless, I'm grateful for what I have. And I'll always appreciate the opportunity to experience God in this sacred place.

A Message From Dan

What does it look like to live a Christian life? Like, TRULY live a Christian life? If I’m honest, I’m over the fake front of being a happy, blessed, and perfect person in order to impress others. Truth is, I’m a sinner who’s just trying to figure out how to do this without looking like an absolute fool. I think the Christian life is about admitting our brokenness, while raising our hand to say,”Here I am Lord! What would You have me do?” And that’s what this blog is all about… just a dude trying to do the best I can, and maybe hoping that you’re stumbling through the same journey. Maybe we can walk together.
