[management by God] the root of all evil

Imagine this... You just got dropped off in the middle of a city just like the castaways on Survivor. You have nothing, don't know anybody, and are left to fend for yourself. What's the first thing that you think of that you need in order to do anything? Food? Maybe,...

[management by God] anger management 101

I love this scene... During Jesus' day the Jewish Law required people to make various atonements for their sins. For some sins, you were required to give your finest, first-born sheep, and for other things you maybe had to sacrifice a bird of some sort. Now remember...

[management by God] mighty man of valor

No one likes selfish people, but our natural human tendency is to be selfish (at some level). We tend to think of how things affect ourselves before we ever consider how it affects other people. In the English language, there's no literal distinction between the...

[national unfriend day]: who would Jesus unfriend?

I know I'm probably going against the grain here, but that's kinda what I do... Jimmy Kimmel declared November 17th National Unfriend Day to encourage people to 'cut the fat' from their Facebook friends lists. Makes sense, right? After all, who wants friends that send...

The Story That
Changed Everything

It's a beautiful day to be outside and working in the yard.

Trimmed back some palm trees, resetting the flower beds, and watching the birds nesting.

And some of the bromiliads under one of my oak trees are in full bloom! 😍

It can be exhausting maintaining this yard, but there is so much beauty to behold.

And I can feel the rhythms of God's Creation in this place.

I wish I was a better gardener, and that it had more time (and money) to invest in it. Maybe some day.

Regardless, I'm grateful for what I have. And I'll always appreciate the opportunity to experience God in this sacred place.

A Message From Dan

What does it look like to live a Christian life? Like, TRULY live a Christian life? If I’m honest, I’m over the fake front of being a happy, blessed, and perfect person in order to impress others. Truth is, I’m a sinner who’s just trying to figure out how to do this without looking like an absolute fool. I think the Christian life is about admitting our brokenness, while raising our hand to say,”Here I am Lord! What would You have me do?” And that’s what this blog is all about… just a dude trying to do the best I can, and maybe hoping that you’re stumbling through the same journey. Maybe we can walk together.
