the alchemy of hope

http://youtu.be/vUJIgkPoiBg Most of us, at one time or another, feel we have little value to offer to the world around us.  Whether this feeling has a pervasive death-grip on our lives or it is merely held in the fleeting moments of our pessimism, we know it is often...

I decided to start blogging after sitting through a frustrating board meeting. After hours of listening to the founding member of a new ministry share ideas that seemed incomprehensibly irrelevant, it ignited a fire inside me. I realized that if a leader doesn’t care...

💔 You don't have to have it all together.

Sometimes the bravest thing we can do is admit we're not okay—and still show up.

God doesn't wait for us to be perfect. He meets us right in the middle of the chaos, the grief, the stress, the mess. That's where healing begins.

📖 This is one of the truths woven throughout my new book, Holy Rhythms for Hurting Hearts: Essays on Mental Health and Ancient Church Practices—now available on Amazon!

If you've ever felt like faith and mental health were at odds, this book is for you.

👉 Grab your copy on Amazon and share this post with someone who needs to know they're not alone.

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus... sung by the campers at @campwingmann at the end of our Compline prayer at the end of the night.

These are some of the precious moments that make this camp such a sacred place for so many youth (and former youth) from around Central Florida.

A Message From Dan

What does it look like to live a Christian life? Like, TRULY live a Christian life? If I’m honest, I’m over the fake front of being a happy, blessed, and perfect person in order to impress others. Truth is, I’m a sinner who’s just trying to figure out how to do this without looking like an absolute fool. I think the Christian life is about admitting our brokenness, while raising our hand to say,”Here I am Lord! What would You have me do?” And that’s what this blog is all about… just a dude trying to do the best I can, and maybe hoping that you’re stumbling through the same journey. Maybe we can walk together.
